Outdoor Sports Show Schedule & Information

Each year, the New York State Outdoor Guides Association (NYSOGA) participates in a series of Sport Shows, and Outdoor Expos. Our exhibition booth is staffed by member guides of NYSOGA, who welcome the opportunity to meet other outdoor enthusiasts, answer any questions or discuss your particular outdoor interests, perhaps direct you in setting up an outing of your choice, and much more.

For NYSOGA members, participation in these events allows us to interact face to face with the public, network among attendees and other exhibitors, and promote our guide services. Attendees of these events have the opportunity to visit the various exhibits and get first hand information, meet guides and other professionals active in the outdoor industry, and take advantage of "show only" discounts on gear, travel, etc. as well as demos and seminars held only at these events.

At the NYSOGA booth, an attendee can also be provided with information for people they can contact who can teach them outdoor skills such as how to tie a fly for fly fishing, sending an effective turkey call, proper preparation for activities they are interested in or perhaps proper usage of an ice axe and crampons. Do you have a question about a certain region in New York State, land usage, white-water rafting, hunting regulations, where to learn cross country skiing? Perhaps you are interested in becoming a guide, or a member of NYSOGA. Stop by one these events, and meet with our guides. They can help you find what you need.

The Springfield Sportsmen's Show
Dates: February 23-25, 2018
Eastern States Exposition, Home of the Big E, 1305 Memorial Ave., West Springfield, MA

The following is a quotation from their website concerning show features: "The Outdoor Sports Expo Group brings together just the right mix of hunting and fishing celebrities, industry experts, and entertainment features to produce a sporting and outdoor show that is educational, entertaining, and fun. No wonder it is known as the Northeast's Strongest Fishing, Hunting, and Outdoor Show.

For more detailed information and directions to the show, visit their website at www.osegshows.com

World Fishing & Outdoor Exposition Show
Dates: March 1 - 4, 2018
AKA "The Suffern Show", Sunny Rockland Community College Suffern, NY

This show has been around for a long time. While it still offers both hunting and fishing attractions, it has been produced by the American Sportfishing Association during recent years and the main emphasis seems to favor the fishing industry. That being said, it is still a great show and everyone should find things of interest to them.

Details and directions to the show should soon become available through their website at www.sportshows.com

Adirondack Sports and Fitness Summer Expo
Dates: March 17 and 18, 2018
Saratoga Springs City Center 522 Broadway, Saratoga Springs, NY

With a focus on regional summer activities, gear, travel, and apparel, the summer expo at the Saratoga Springs City Center hosts over 100 exhibitors, with sales on gear, and clothing. With a paddling pool for kayak demos and trials, and a 30 ft. climbing wall, along with clinics and seminars by local experts, there is something for every outdoor enthusiast. Food and drink concessions are provided by local restaurants. The managers of the Expo also host a mixer on Saturday evening, at one of the local establishments, to provide exhibitors with the opportunity of networking, fellowship, etc.
